Welcome December! The 12th and final month of 2019. Where did that time go? It is truly hard to believe we will soon celebrate another holiday season and a new year.
As we look back and reflect on 2019 we are grateful for what we have accomplished and have been through. We offered many amazing programs, continued to sustain and grow membership, made improvements to our facility, and recently completed yet another successful Annual Campaign. We are well on our way to doing more great things as we head into 2020. Saying that, 2019 had its share of challenges we found ourselves having to work through, some of which we continue to forge ahead with. One of the major changes was a change in leadership. While it was necessary, it wasn’t a popular decision with everyone. But we forged ahead with the CEO search process and came out of it with an outstanding new leader. Mr. Chris King has hit the ground running and has already displayed the value and the skill sets he brings to the table. We are blessed to have Chris join and lead our team and we look forward to the amazing things he will help us accomplish this year and in the years ahead.
The Board and Staff continue to work together on our next Strategic Plan, as well as other key items that involve planning for our future, both short-term and long-term. 2020 will be a year of transition and we all know transition creates changes, which not everyone will accept. Working together, with one voice and one mission, will be the key to advancing our cause into this next year and beyond. I am excited to see what each Board Member, Committee, employee, volunteer, member, and visitor contribute to continue to make our Y the best in the business. We have a lot of work to do but we will reach our goals and we will set new standards if we all work together. I ask that you join me in doing your part to see that every individual who sets foot on our campus has a wonderful experience they will never forget.
I also ask you to join me in celebrating this most wonderful time of year. Bring on the Egg Nog!
