Welcome to June!! Is May seriously over already? Didn’t we just celebrate Cinco DeMayo? Time sure does pass us by in a hurry. Although the rains lately have dampened our spirits a bit, the warm weather we’re experiencing has us fired up for the summer months to come. Baseball and softball are in full swing (literally), pools are open (except mine), boats are floating (and hopefully running), bikes are on the streets and trails, and the barbeques are grilling us some darn good menus. I truly hope you are able to get outdoors and enjoy everything our beautiful region has to offer over the next few months.
Speaking of Summer, it is almost time for our Summer Day Camp program to begin. We are very excited to get the youngsters back on campus for a summer of fun, activities, sports, and learning. It is one of my favorite times of year – seeing all the kids in the facility enjoying themselves, making new friends, and making memories that will last a lifetime. What a great way for these kids to spend the summer days.
Another exciting happening is our upcoming Overnight Camp at the Crooked Creek Outdoor Learning Center. Campers will spend an overnight at the Outdoor Learning Center and come back more confident in themselves than ever. What a great experience for these campers!! Kudos to Bria Jones for putting this one together. Learn more by clicking on the following link: http://rgsymca.org/overnight-camp/
Lastly this month I would like to give a shout out to our most awesome staff. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you and your unwavering resolve to always forge ahead, regardless of the obstacles. Thank you for all you do each day to continue to allow our facility and it’s members to have the greatest Y experience in the Nation. WE are STRONG.
P.S. – THANK YOU to all who donated to the Y during the Day of Giving on May 9th. We are truly grateful for your continued support.
