UPDATE: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 10:50am:
The air handling unit installation and painting of our natatorium is on schedule to be completed by the end of the workday on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. However, we were advised to wait an additional 24 hours to open our facility in order to meet operating standards and regulations. Therefore, our natatorium will not be opening until Friday, March 29th at 5am. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this upgrading process to the natatorium.
The Richard G. Snyder YMCA Campus has gone through a lot of positive changes in the last 2.5 years. We hope that the YMCA will continue to be a strong, positive force in our community for years to come. As we continue to strive to be this force in the community, we ask that you adapt with us.
As many of you are aware, over the last 6 years we have had numerous issues centered around the air handling unit (HVAC #6) that controls our natatorium environment. We have done extensive work to this unit over the last 2.5 years to make sure that the natatorium environment is safe and efficient. As previously communicated with you, we are replacing the air handling unit.
We are excited to announce to you that the work to replace this unit will begin on Monday, March 25th and is projected to conclude on Wednesday, March 27th. Therefore, the natatorium will be closed Monday, March 25th through Wednesday, March 27th .
Currently, our goal is to reopen the natatorium at 5am on Thursday, March 28th. We are committed to ensuring that all our equipment is running at its maximum efficient capacity prior to opening the natatorium doors. Please visit our Facebook page for daily updates on the progress of this project.
We take the health and welfare of each member of our community very seriously and we will continue to strengthen our community to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a very safe environment.
