According to the calendar, March 19th marks the beginning of Spring! We shall see if Mother nature agrees. As we begin the 3rd month of 2020 it’s exciting to think about flowers blooming, grass growing, spring sports underway, and of course, the Luck of the Irish – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
The Y is bustling daily with lots of programs, sports, and activities going on daily. It is encouraging to see the Y being utilized by so many community members in so many different ways. From the swimmers, to the runners, to the Bible Study Groups and Civic Organizations that hold their meetings here, the Y has something to offer everyone. Chris and Staff are working extra hard to continue to make our YMCA the best in the region. We have such a beautiful facility, led by a dedicated group of employees and volunteers who wish to make the community a better place for all – Y For All. Everyone is welcome at the Y. Thank you to all who make this possible.
This month the Strategic Planning Committee will be developing and focusing our efforts on our next 3-Year Strategic Plan. “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” This Plan will be vital in steering the direction of our Y for the next three years. We have several community needs and issues we have identified where the Y can be a catalyst for positive change and impact for our region’s citizens. It is very important we stay focused and address these needs so our communities can be healthier – physically, mentally, spiritually – more active, drug-free, and socially responsible, all of which help drive economic growth. The Richard G. Snyder YMCA has the opportunity to continue to make a real impact in the lives of those it serves.
Here’s to Spring and all that comes with it, including NCAA March Madness! Have a great March everyone!!
